Synopsis:
CORALINE JONES our head protagonist finds herself bored, ignored, and far from her real home. After moving to ‘The Pink Palace’ Coraline’s doubts pile on with every new experience. The neighbors are rather odd, the house is rather creaky, and her parents are stuck in their work. At the task of her father, counting all of the leaky windows and squeaky doors, Coraline (or perhaps doll Coraline) finds a brick lined ‘door’ behind the wallapaper in the fmaily room. The button eyed key should have stayed in the drawer, because when the mice come out to play, its not just cheese they are looking to take. Will Coraline beat the other mother’s game or will she be forced to see the world beyond the door, through sharply sewn button holes.

“I am not usually a fan of stopmation or bizarre kids story’s but this really took me by surprise. It’s colourful, well written, great voice cast and the overall presentation is truly unique. I also watched it in 3D and it’s one of the best 3D presentations I’ve ever seen. The actual crux of the story has been done before, a “things are too good to be true” type scenario with a hint of “be careful what you wish for” but the actual imagery in telling the story I have never seen anything like it.” (Classic Boxing Matches)
“I love Coraline, I watch it over and over again.. it’s a gothic movie where adults and children can both enjoy.. it has such layers of meanings to it, in fact that it focuses on a child protagonist and make use of her character, gives the child character a more profound status than the adult characters, it makes you feel sympathetic, empathetic and the feeling of familiarity, childhood memory. You can’t help but feel close to it, you know you felt the same way as she did. A better father, mother, friend, house etc. This is a true movie that spells “be careful of what you wish for”. “This film was very well written. The characters that came from the start, such as the father and mother, had perfect character development. They showed no care for anything Coraline did because they were to busy working, but in the end they’re finally able to enjoy some quality family time. But to get back on topic. The curiosity of Coraline perfectly matches the way one could imagine they would act. The Beldam giving the kids anything they want is a tempting offer but it would come with a cost. The other characters like Mr. Boibinsky and Mrs. Spink and Forcible seem really weird but realistically they just misunderstood and are amazing parts to the story.
