One of the coziest local coffee shops in Sussex county, and my personal favorite is “Cafe e Dolci”, in Franklin. I didn’t know about this place until a coworker told me about it and we went to get gelato after work. I was so surprised that there was such a nice place for coffee so nearby! The shop is so inviting with a sort of dark rustic interior that makes you want to take a seat and get cozy with your latte by the fireplace (yes – there’s a fireplace!) They even have a small selection of books and games for you and a friend to enjoy while you’re there. Or if you need to get work done, it’s the perfect place to settle down with your laptop.
Just here for the food? I got you.
The coffee menu updates all the time and they always have special seasonal drinks and new creations written on the menu. They have a s’mores iced latte that’s my personal go-to, but just to pique your interest here’s a few they’ve got lined up right now:
Thin Mint Mocha
Blueberry pie latte
Caramel Dream Macchiato
Pumpkin Chai
Toasted Coconut Cream Latte
Just to name a few.

And don’t get me started on their breakfast options! Omelets, croissant breakfast sandwiches, açaí bowls and, of course, your choice of sweet or savory crepes (they are delicious and a great size for sharing).
It’s shocking how such a small coffee shop can have such a large menu – and everything sounds so good. They even have a bakery case if you just want a quick bite. I recommend the caramel mini muffins.
Your Visit
Their staff is super friendly, and everything plated up beautifully when they bring it to you. Or you can take it to go if you’re pressed for time.
It’s located in the same plaza as the Franklin ShopRite right off of Route 23. It’s a nice spot for brunch and may be busy on the weekends, so be mindful of that when planning a visit. It’s also worth mentioning that it’s fairly small inside with only about 7 or 8 tables inside, and some seats by the window. Outdoor seating is available too. (directions here)
They have free WiFi if you’re bringing your laptop and outlets at almost every table if you need to charge your devices.
And If you want to browse their menu for yourself, you can visit Cafe e Dolci’s website right here.
