As a musician, I’m always looking for the next big thing when it comes to instruments. I started my journey with playing the violin all the way through middle school and high school with an acoustic, but always wanted to branch out into the electric world with all the cool effects, pedals and amplified projections. I finally earned enough money where I could start a new journey, but research is THE MOST important step of them all; I had to choose wisely. The best option I came across were the instruments from Electric Violin Shop, and I would like to share what they bring to the table and my personal experience with their product.
Getting Started

I was looking for a beginner electric violin, with the spice of a 5th string instead being limited to the regular four: G, D, A, and E strings. With this new addition, it would then be C, G, D, A, and E; adding the experience of the lower notes that violas provide in an orchestra. After some more digging under the 5-string tab for violins on their website, I found the perfect choice:

The auro electric violin, with an array of colored finishes, caught my eye. I love the color pink, and the price was lower than the others, being around $920. The overview states:
From the maker of Aurora violins comes the Auro, an all-wood violin priced for the entry-level market! The Auro possesses a design aesthetic and tone similar to the popular Aurora Classic violin, while costing about half as much.

Mine came in about a year ago, and after a year of practicing it, it is one of my favorite purchases as someone who’s not in high school orchestra anymore, but still wanted to keep the skills I learned along the way. I purchased an amp separately and with the reverb effects added, it makes an entirely different experience compared to that of an acoustic. Now with the added C string, I love enjoying lower notes that I never had before. With this electric violin, I am even more confident playing now.
