Our Local Baseball is the best!

The people who say: “Baseball is boring” clearly have never been to a game of the Sussex Miners. It is the local Baseball team of Sussex County that plays in the Skylands Stadium in Augusta. I personally have seen them play in person and it is no comparison to watching Big League Baseball on TV. Going to a Sussex Miners game is an entire experience. There is a bunch of locals cheering on their team and creating a fantastic unified and electrified atmosphere of cheer.

There is a Miner’s Mascot walking around and taking pictures with people and a store selling Sussex Miners Merchandise. My husband and I got a Hoodie, a T-Shirt and two matching Baseball Caps right after watching our first game there because of how invested we had become into the team and their success after just one game. There is also a lot of food, with several little stores selling a huge variety of snacks and drinks. We got the all you can eat tickets and they made fresh Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, had Potato Salads and Pretzels and more.

Speaking of tickets, there is obviously no comparison between the price for a local Baseball game compared to Big League games. Even for younger people who are in College their games are very affordable.

During their games and the breaks there is no time to get bored as there is games for the visitors and giveaways. The mascot is involved in all of them and they especially create a lot of fun for children.

As we were watching their last game they even had two Pick up trucks from a local dealership drive onto the playing field and circle it as an advertisement campaign. This local Baseball team is anything but some small uninteresting team you could ignore. They are all headed for the Big League and do exactly what they should, treat the Small League as the Big League. It´s a winner’s mindset.
