Sussex County is full of great and underappreciated local places to eat, I hope to highlight some of them in this post.
- Cranky Noodles
- Located inside the Gears n’ Grinds on 85 Main Street in Sparta, Cranky Noodles serves delicious ramen Wednesday through Sunday. Their menu ranges from ramen noodles with short rib to soft serve ice cream and salads. Since this place is not as well known as the others on this list, it typically has little to no wait time, yet still has a 4.1/5.0 star rating on google. While on the more expensive side, Cranky Noodles is still worth a try if you are looking for a quick bite to eat in the Sparta area. Cranky Noodles
- Jefferson Diner
- The Jefferson Diner located on Route 15 near Lake Hopatcong, has made a reputation as a notable retro-style diner with consistently great food. Earning itself a 4.2/5.0 star rating on google with over 2,500 reviews, it’s loved by the people of North Jersey. The Jefferson Diner offers delivery, pickup, dining-in and takeout. It is well known that the Jefferson Diner appeared on the show, “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.” The Jefferson Diner offers extended hours for its customers, staying open until 1am everyday of the week. - Angelo’s Franklin Diner
- Angelo’s Franklin Diner, while being lesser-known than the Jefferson Diner, still boasts a similar 4.2/5.0 star rating on google. Angelo’s also offers delivery, dine-in and takeout, with an online accessible menu on menupix.com (https://www.menupix.com). They serve breakfast all day long and have a wide range of dinners including: burgers, seafood, roasts and steaks. Angelo’s also offers a children’s lunch and dinner menu with items such as: Hamburgers, Hotdogs and Chicken. Angelo’s Franklin Diner
